Kyle's alive.

HELLO EVERYONE.

Oh my jesus, it's been how long since I've posted here? I thought I would come and post a blog to tell you I AM ALIVE. So, stop calling 911 child services; I'm not missing.

So what has happened since I last spoke to you? Well as you can see, I gave up on my 365 blog. It was WAY to much work to keep that going. I'll just keep enlightening you guys here on this blog; it makes my life easier.

So this month, I didn't do much, except for school. School is consuming my life... and work actually! I was hired at a place in my area, and I've been working there avidly; so I'm making lots of moula!

A few weeks ago, my cell phone was stolen on the bus. Someone took it out of my sweater pocket when I stood up to get off the bus. (I didn't zipper it up, I'm a fucking idiot.) Anyway, I haven't found out who did it; but if I do. Oh shat will hit the fan, let me tell you! So that day, I was freaking, I called my mom. I was like "Yo motha, come get me. We're going to Rogers." Not really like that, but it was close. Mom and I went to Rogers and I had to chip out $112 on this shitty Pay-as-you-go phone. ... thats all I have to say about that. After a week with that, my friend was selling his old Rogers blackberry.. so, I BOUGHT IT. Yeeee. So now I have a blackberry  and a data plan. I'm going to set up this blog with my phone so I can update right from there! (Won't that be so cool ?!?!? :] )

What else.

Yesterday I went to a birthday party for my friend Hannah. (She's featured in the new banner up top!) IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. Her mom made the best nachos and cheese the worlds ever tasted. Everything was on them. EVERYTHING.

Well, there is your quick little update! I'll come out with a good one soon, I promise. Right now I have to go and do some more studying for Ancient History. (The test is on Monday, fml.) "Greece in the Heroic Age."

Oh, and I have a math test.. fml x2.

CHECK OUT THE NEW BANNER,
its BAMMMMMMMMMMM! ;)

ZOMFG I GOT MY BRACES OFF TOO, FTW!
YEAH YEAH YEAH!

LOVE,
yours truly,
MOI.

My coming out story.

I know I haven't posted in a while, that's becuase I haven't had any ideas for a blog post.. this one dawned upon me and now here it is! I'll most likely to a video blog about this one.

First I came out online, to a few online friends I met on a gay youth support website. Best thing I had ever done. [www.thegyc.com] After about a month of that I decided it was time.

I had known I was gay since I was ten/eleven.. but I neglected the fact. I continued trying to make myself "straight."  When I realised it was a lost cause... I had found TheGYC and initially said I was bi... I was never Bi.. but it sort of felt more of a reassurence that there was hope. After I got a bunch of support from people on there, because I find it's a great place!!! I had the curage and faith in myself to come out.

I need to interrupt this story for a moment, and give a tremondous amount of credit to Brett. I met him online through TheGYC and he gave me the courage, the reassurance, the mentality to be able to come out. He is an amazing person.

So, I finally accepted it for myself, and then I realised I had another big decision to make. To come out.

Believe it or not, the first real life person I came out to was my Mom. What I had finnished talking to Brett, who gave me the courage to come out, I finally made the decision. I wrote a three page letter to my mom. Printed it out, and put it under her pillow while she was sleeping.

Mind you, this was at like 2 am. This was July 25th, 2007. I went to bed, and awaited the morning.

I woke up, mom was a work, and there was a note under my pillow.

I read it.

I cried.

It was the most beautiful thing.

That was the first time I've actually cried, cried.. I'm not a cryer.

The first month after I came out, it was a bit awkward for me, but not for mom. She was, and is, supportive 100% ! After this big step, I eventually started telling my friends.

The first friend I told was my friend Dillon, and the second friend I told was my ĂĽber best friend Emily.

[Emily and I had dated, and she always wondered why I'd never kissed her, or hugged her, or any of that stuff. But she soon found out! And we're even closer friends to this day, I LOVE HER SO FKING MUCH♥]

A month after I told my mom, I told my father.
I can remember the evening.
Every detail.
Mom and I were sitting on the deck, (my parents are divorced) as my dad had dropped off my sibblings.
He walked up to the deck, and I told him I had something to tell him.

After I told him, he had cried.. I believe it was just the initial shock.
Now, everythings goood! My dad is absolutely supportive.

So I guess I was very lucky, as my entire family as the started finding out, they were all supportive. I love them all, and coming out was the hardest thing I ever did. I can't even try to put my feet into the shoes of someone who lives in an un-supporting household. Sometimes I wonder why I was so lucky.

So.. I won't lie to anyone, coming out was the most hardest, gut wrenching, headaching thing I'd ever done.. but it was the best thing I'd had ever done for myself. I was finally free. I was finally free from living two lives.

The end.

LOVE,
KYLE.

Heterosexism // Safe-Sex = Non-Existant // Gay People = AIDS

HETEROSEXISM.

Way too much of it in this world. Do you know what heterosexism is? It's when people aren't inclusive of all gender orientations and sexual identities. I find this quite agravating..

Lets say you're having a lecture from a teacher in class; let's use PDR class as an example.
"Boys; you will have to look into using a condom to help prevent pregnancys in women."

HOLD IT.

If you're a homosexual.. I think the purpose of using a condom would be a bit different, don't you think? We would use it to prevent ourselves from contracting STIs, STDs, or HIV/ Aids... I'm quite sure if you are a homosexual male, you will not be making babies.

"Ladies; when you become sexually active, you should get birth control."

HEYY, rude.

If you're a lesbian, I don't think you'll be needing some pregnancy control. When teachers say "All girls and boys need to know how to use a condom." Wrong, again. A lesbian doesn't need to know how to use a condom; dental damn, maybe. This also refers to my homosexual males example, above.

I'm touching on this subject, because I find we need to work towards elimenating heterosexism in this world. When you're talking, use terminolgy that is inclusive of everyone! This isn't just for GLBTQ persons, this is also for people of different races; different backgrounds. It all falls under the same category! Why can't we all just include everyone and not just some, as a lot of us do.

BAMN, USE A CONDOM, SAFE SEX!
Partay.

WRONG.
There is no such thing as "safe-sex." Safe-sex is non existant in this world. With sexual activity, comes risks. A condom is not 100% effective. Yes, it does help protect you, but there is no 100% guarentee! An example would be HIV. The HIV virus is small enough to fit through the pors of a condom, therefor; a condom is not 100% effective of the prevention of HIV/ Aids. Yes, a condom does help prevent infection, but isn't a 100% guarentee.

So my conclusion to this is,
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SAFE-SEX; THERE IS SAFER-SEX, but no such thing as safe-sex.

So, here comes the last part of tonights rant. GLBTQ people, especially homosexual men, aren't the only ones who can get HIV/ Aids. To all you who think that, you're stupid, sorry. Believe it or not, female teens are at a higher rate of infection than anyone else. This is due to the female anatomy, unfortunately. The tissues of a vagina are softer than a males penis, which means the tissues can rip easier, allowing fluid transfers, leading to an infection. The head of a males penis is sort-of looked at as a sheild, or helmet. The area is tougher, therefor can withstand more. This does not mean males are 100% protected, just means that they have a smaller chance of being infected.

If you're wondering why I know all this; I do HIV/ Aids presentations with various other people to adults, students, and peers at various conferences; this meaning I'm trained in this subject!

THAT'S IT,
LOVE KYLE.

NEW POST!

I have a topic I want to write about, hopefully I'll get to write about it tonight! :]

STAY TUNED.. reading..
